The Elite Training Program brings together the expertise of professional athletes, famed strength and conditioning coaches and innovative technology with renowned physicians from Steadman Hawkins Clinic of the Carolinas and sports-focused physical therapy to offer athletes the individualized attention necessary to achieve outstanding results at the highest level of sports.
The program is a combination of cutting-edge explosive strength and speed training paired with our unique Speedflex™ Training System, which targets an athlete’s fast-twitch muscle fibers — the source of explosive power and speed. ASI is the only sports performance center of its kind that has the Speedflex™ Training System.
The Elite Training Program typically runs up to 12 weeks, with training sessions five days a week, once or twice per day. All programs are developed for each athlete’s unique circumstances, taking into account sport, position, weaknesses and previous injuries.
Upon arrival to our facility, each athlete will receive a contact sheet with names and phone numbers for ASI personnel, physical therapists, emergency doctors and local law enforcement — all available around the clock for ASI clients.
You can feel confident that the ASI team has thought of everything when it comes to welcoming athletes and their families to Greenville. From local restaurants and attractions to some of the world’s most spectacular golf courses, the Upstate offers a relaxing, family-friendly and entertaining escape from the rigor and intensity of off-season training.
Our team also stands ready to assist agents as they plan and coordinate athlete visits to the area. If you’d like to schedule a tour of our facilities and see our program in action, please contact ASI at asi@ghs.org or 864-454-2749.

Medical Evalution by Steadman Hawkins Clinic of the Carolinas
Available but not necessary, a unique part of our Elite Training Program is the close interaction with the sports medicine experts from Steadman Hawkins, who are located in the same facility. The doctors are on hand to evaluate and respond to any injury or condition that may occur. These physicians have extensive experience with professional athletes, having served as team doctors for NBA, NFL, NHL, MLB and Olympic teams.
Biomechanical Evaluation
Provided by Proaxis Therapy, a full evaluation allows us to gauge stability, weaknesses, balance and strength.
Pre-hab
Dictated by the biomechanical evaluation, we then customize a program designed specifically for the athlete’s body or preexisting injury.
Movement and Motion Evaluation
We work with athletes to identify and correct inefficient movement patterns to allow them to achieve their maximum performance.
Leading-edge Training Programs
ASI uses the periodization-training model, which is all about managing the stress-and-rest cycle to optimize improvement and maximize the overall gain in performance. This kind of periodization applied to a particular athlete is strongly influenced by the specific sport, the physical characteristics that are required and the age of the athlete.
