Acceleration Sports Institute (ASI) was founded in 2004 by a group of professional athletes whose goal was to provide a more consistent system for training pro athletes than the ones they had used during their careers.
Their philosophy was to provide individual training to athletes of all abilities — all designed to take them to the next level, whatever that might be.
In 2005, ASI teamed up with Steadman Hawkins Clinic of the Carolinas and Proaxis Therapy to offer sports performance training within a medical context. By pairing some of the best orthopaedic surgeons and sports physical therapists with ASI’s proven sports training methods, clients were assured that their training was not just effective, but also medically safe.
In 2008, Greenville Healthy System University Medical Center purchased ASI for the purpose of training professional, college and high school athletes, the general population and “Exercise Medicine” population within the Institute for Musculoskeletal Health & Wellness. The Institute offers clients unmatched sports medicine services, physical therapy, sports nutrition services and sports training. Quite simply, there is nothing else quite like it in the region.
